We took a nice long walk through this churchyard. An unfortunate number of the dead commemorated here seem to have died far away from home in foreign wars, but many others had been missionaries.

A grave built into the churchyard wall - marked 1647. We don't know if the "LOL" is the Gaelic equivalent of RIP or the dearly departed's initials.

Bren and our mutual friend at the museum at Aberdeen University. You have to guess which one is Bren.

St. Machar's Church and churchyard. The interior is beautiful but too dark to photograph.
