Why Croatia? Well, we love the history and the character of Eastern Europe, and we wondered if Dubrovnik could possibly be as beautiful as its pictures. (It is.)

The trip involved nine flight segments, covering over 11,000 air miles with stays in four hotels.

On the way over we flew from Kansas to Zagreb with connections in Chicago and Madrid. On our return It didn't help that we decided to make a Scotch whisky run to London and AA decided to make our lives a little more complicated by routing us on British Airlines from London to Toronto, then on to Chicago and to Kansas.

The language is impossible for us but English is very widely spoken so we had no trouble communicating.

Yes, Croatian beer is better than Budweiser.

The fort in Dubrovnik.... Interesting, but it has lots of steps to climb.
