For many Americans a visit to Brussels is usually a one-or two-day stay based on a precisely scheduled "Deluxe Motorcoach Tour". But that's no way to enjoy Brussels. The city is just too rich, to varied, and in many ways too subtle to be experienced from inside a chrome and glass capsule. We walked, taking plenty of time, often wandering at will through the streets and around interesting corners. At left is the facade of the Royal Palace of Justice; at right is a view from a nearby promontory. |
